The inauguration ceremony of the Continuous Care Project for Mothers and Children, under the JICA Partnership Program, was held with the honorable Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Khagaraj Adhikari, as the chief guest. This project, financially supported by a group of citizens from Komagane City, Japan (Citizen Association for Nepal Exchange), and in collaboration with the Pokhara Komagane Citizens’ Friendship Association (PKCAF), focuses on the health of mothers and children. The project will be implemented in wards 16, 19, 20, 25 of Pokhara, Shisuwa Hospital, and other rural municipalities of Kaski, with the Maternity and Infant Miteri Hospital at the center.
Building on the sister city relationship between Pokhara Metropolitan City and Komagane City, Japan, this is the third phase of the project, following successful collaborations during the first and second phases. The project aims to raise awareness in the community about maternal care during pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum, strengthen the connection between hospitals and the community, and provide training on breastfeeding and breast massage techniques to prevent malnutrition in children.
The event, chaired by Shanti Sherchan, the president of PKCAF, was attended by notable guests including Pokhara Mayor Dhanraj Acharya, Gandaki Province Health Secretary Dr. Binod Bindu Sharma, former Member of Parliament Krishna Thapa, Hospital Management Committee Chair Dharmaraj Thapa, JICA Nepal Chief Representative Akimishu Okubo, and President of the Komagane City Citizens’ Support Group Shigeki Komatsubara, along with 14 Japanese citizens, health volunteers, and mothers’ groups. The program was conducted with great dignity and success.
आमा र बच्चाको स्वास्थका लागि जाईका पार्टनर्शिप प्रोग्राम (JICA Partnership Program)अन्तर्गत जापान कोमागाने शहरका नागरिकहरुको समूह (citizen Association For Nepal Exchange)को आर्थिक सहयोगमा पोखराको पोखरा कोमागाने नागरिक मैत्री एशोसियशन (PKCAF )को सहकार्य मा आमा र बच्चाका लागि अभिछिन्न हेरचाह परियोजना ) को समुद्घाटन कार्यक्रम गण्डकी प्रदेशका माननिय मुख्य मन्त्री खगराज अधिकारिज्यु को प्रमुख आतिथ्यतामा सम्पन्न भएको छ। पोखरा महानगरपालिका र जापानको कोमागाने नगरको भगिनि सम्बन्ध को आधार मा स्थापना भएको मात्री शिशु मितेरी अस्पताललाई केन्द्रित गर्दै वडा न 16,19,20,25 ,शिशुवा अस्पताल र कास्कीका अन्य गाउँ पालिका समेत लाई कार्य क्षेत्र बनाई तेस्रो चरण का लागि यो परियोजना संचालित छ। पहिलो र दोश्रो चरण मा पोखरा महानगरपालिकाको सहकार्यमा संचालित भएको थियो। गर्भवतीको अबस्थामा,सुत्केरीको अबस्थामा र सुत्केरी पछिको अवस्था र हेरचाह बारे समुदाय लाई चेतनामूलक जानकारी गराउन,अस्पताल र समुदाय बिच सम्बन्ध जोड्ने प्रकृया बारे र बच्चालाई कुपोषण बाट जोगाउन आमाको दुधको महत्व र यसको हेरबिचारका लागि स्तन मसाज सीप बारे तालिम दिने आदि कार्यका लागि यो प्रोजेक्ट को महत्वोपुर्ण भुमिका हुनेछ।
पोखरा कोमागाने नागरिक मैत्री एसोसिएसन PKCAF को अध्यक्ष शान्ती शेरचनको अध्यक्षता मा संचालित कार्यक्रममा पोखराका नगर प्रमुख धनराज आचार्यज्यु, गन्डकी प्रदेशका स्वास्थ सचिव डा बिनोद बिन्दु शर्माज्यु,पुर्ब सभासद कृष्ण थापाज्यु,अस्पताल ब्यबस्थापन समितिका अध्यक्ष धर्म राज थापाज्यु,जाइका नेपालका चिफ प्रतिनिधि अकिमिशु ओकुबो तथा कोमागाने नगरका नागरिक सहयोग समुह अध्यक्ष शिगेकी कोमत्सुबारा लगाएत १४ जना जापानी नागरिकहरु,स्वास्थ स्वम्सेबिका र आमा समुह समेतको उपस्थितीमा सभ्य र भब्य रुपमा सम्पन्न भएको थियो।
