On the date of 2079/10/26, a significant milestone was achieved with the successful execution of a K.B.M. (Knowledge-Based Management) training session. The focus of the training was to enhance the participants’ understanding and hands-on knowledge about key maternal and neonatal health practices, which are critical for both medical professionals and community health workers.
During the training, a lively and in-depth discussion was held on various case studies brought forward by the trainees. These case studies covered real-world challenges encountered in maternal health care, emphasizing practical solutions and interventions. The training was structured to promote active participation and collaborative learning. Trainees were divided into three distinct groups, each focusing on a specific area of expertise:
- Group 1: Delved into the “Anatomy of the Breast,” providing a thorough understanding of the physiological structure and function of the breast, which is crucial for effective breastfeeding practices.
- Group 2: Concentrated on the “Characteristics of K.B.M.,” where participants explored the core principles of Knowledge-Based Management, learning how to apply these in various healthcare settings to improve outcomes.
- Group 3: Focused on “Latching for Inverted Nipples,” addressing a common issue faced by breastfeeding mothers and exploring strategies to ensure proper latch and feeding techniques, thus preventing complications.
The training session was enriched by the expert facilitation of Yasuyo Takehara, Sachi Kawate, and Kyoko Yoneda, whose guidance and insights were instrumental in making the learning experience engaging and effective. Their dedication and support ensured that all participants left the session with a deeper understanding of the topics covered, ready to implement the knowledge gained in their professional roles.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to these facilitators and to everyone who participated in making this training a success. We look forward to future sessions that continue to build on this foundation of knowledge and skills for the betterment of maternal and neonatal healthcare. Thank you!
